CEMC and TVA extend Community Care Fund

CEMC is continuing its partnership with the Tennessee Valley Authority in addressing hardships created by the COVID-19 pandemic by participating in the Community Care Fund grant program in 2023. CEMC will be matching funds offered by TVA to selected nonprofit agencies throughout its five-county service area. CEMC and TVA will award a total of $93,500 to 15 different agencies this year.

These organizations received Community Care Fund grants from CEMC and TVA:

  • $11,000Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee
    Funds will provide support to Cheatham, Montgomery, Robertson and Sumner Counties.
  • $9,000The Bethesda Center in Cheatham Co.
    Funds will provide food support and to assist our members who are struggling to pay utility bill, rent and medication
  • $1,500Camp Rainbow. Montgomery Co.
    Funds will be used to help pay camp fees and camper supplies for children with serious illnesses that can’t go to regular summer camps.
  • $5,000United Methodist Urban Ministries. Montgomery Co.
    Funds donated will be used to assist members struggling to pay rent, mortgage payments, utility bills, medication, childcare, and food.
  • $11,000United Way of Greater Clarksville. Montgomery Co.
    Funds donated will be used to assist members struggling to pay rent, mortgage payments, utility bills, medication, childcare, and food.
  • $10,000United Way of Middle Tennessee. Robertson Co.
    Funds donated will be used to assist members struggling to pay rent, mortgage payments, utility bills, medication, childcare, and food.
  • $4,000Northland Ministerial Association (HOPE). Robertson Co.
    Funds donated will be used to assist members struggling to pay rent, mortgage payments, utility bills, medication, childcare, and food.
  • $1,000Robertson County Family Resource Center. Robertson Co.
    Funds will provide resources for 250 students in Robertson County that have been identified as homeless. Food for the food pantry, new clothing, shoes, school supplies and occasionally financial assistance to help with medical bills due to lack of medical insurance.
  • $4,000Cooperative Outreach for Personal Emergencies Inc (COPE). Robertson County
    Funds donated will be used to assist members struggling to pay rent, mortgage payments, utility bills, medication, childcare, and food.
  • $4,000Highland Rim Economic. Stewart County 
    Funds donated will be used to assist members struggling to pay rent, mortgage payments, utility bills, medication, childcare, and food.
  • $3,000Hands of Hope. Sumner County 
    Funds donated will be used to assist members who are struggling with food insecurities, hygiene products and other essentials.
  • $5,000 – Gallatin CARES. Sumner County
    Funds will provide food support and to assist our members who are struggling to pay utility bill, rent and medication.
  • $5,000Portland CARES. Sumner County 
    Funds will provide food support and to assist our members who are struggling to pay utility bill, rent and medication.
  • $5,000Manna Café. Stewart County
    Funds will provide food support and to assist our members who are struggling to pay utility bill, rent and medication.

Since the program began in April 2020, the Community Care Fund has helped numerous local charitable organizations across the Tennessee Valley region provide assistance to those most impacted by the ongoing pandemic.
